Students will be able to:
Each student has two supervisors who both assess the research proposal and the thesis.

  • Typical thesis/project stages
  • Explanation of the role of the stages
  • The typical structure
  • The thesis stages and the flow of argument

Look at the table showing the main stages of a thesis. Each stage has a function. Note that this is a generalized structure and your thesis may combine some stages e.g. Results and Discussion. It also contains suggested proportions for each stage.

The Master Thesis Project takes place at the end of the Master’s degree programs of Innovation Management, and Operations Management and Logistics. Within the project the student offers an incisive analysis of the situation within an organization, viewed from several perspectives. Following this analysis, the student indicates the causes of the problem and the relevant directions in which a solution may be sought. One of these directions will be elaborated into a concept that the organization can implement and, where possible, this concept will be implemented so that the results can be compared with original situation.
The student works on the project full time. A student is usually present at the company four days a week and works on the project one day a week at the university. The project runs for a maximum of 21 weeks. TU/e supervises the project in the person of a lecturer-researcher. The student submits a complete written report and presents the findings within the company to the relevant employees.
